BC Amparado

BC Amparado is a Filipino filmmaker whose work explores themes of humanity and social justice. A former regional TV producer turned writer-director, he is an alumnus of Ricky Lee’s scriptwriting workshop. His debut feature, Gulay lang, Manong!, was a finalist at the 2024 Cinemalaya Film Festival, where it won the Audience Choice Award.

BC is drawn to stories rooted in the urban Filipino experience often navigating themes of crime, absurdity, and the hidden motives behind human behavior. The turning point in his artistic path came during his years juggling fatherhood and corporate work, where he continued honing his craft through workshops with celebrated mentors like Erik Matti, Jason Paul Laxamana, and Ricky Lee (Scriptwriting Workshop, Batch 26).

Passionate about cinema’s power to reflect humanity and provoke change, BC continues to pursue stories that elevate social justice, empathy, and the Filipino voice.
